Scream 4 could be in the pipeline. The Weinstein Company, the production firm formed by the high-profile producing pair the Weinstein Brothers, announced it would be developing a third sequel to the lucrative franchise that parodied the horror genre. It’s as yet unclear whether writer Kevin Williamson, director Wes Craven and star Neve Campbell will participate in the project. There have been attempts to resurrect the franchise in the past, but so far they have failed. We are not sure if we want to scream for excitement or boredom…are we stuck in a sequel because nobody can come up with innovative storytelling?…I have an idea: let’s make a movie about a guy with a mask who goes around killing people…mmm we haven’t seen that one before. Can we at least change the mask?
